Capture off of DVD camcorder
A customer wants me to edit videos shot with a camcorder that records to DVD. What’s the best way to capture this to Vegas-6 for editing?

Make sure that the DVD out of the camera is “Finalized” in the camera.
Put the DVD into the computer’s DVD player.Then go File->Import->DVD Camcorder Disk
Vegas will grind away and will capture your DVD.

If that can’t work for you (I can’t put those little discs in my laptop DVD slot), you can always play it from a DVD player using video/audio out and record to mini DV on your camcorder. There is always a way.
