Capture now 720 varicam to xserve
first of all, tryin to capture live out of varicam through AJA Kbox, into FCP4.5 capture now, onto xserve raid. second, does this sort of thing always slow the raid to allocate and process, whatever it does it’s takin a long time. We did this with two tapes, worked fine, took awhile but turned out. third tape: had to abort capture because it wasn’t taking in the video. ended up force quiting, even restarting the comp and the raid is still trying to process the few minutes we tried to capture off the third tape. Anybody else have any experience with this? thanks in advance!

In the Scratch disk settings, turn off any file limit size and any restraint on the capture now duration, and see if this doesn’t improve things.
Also FWIW, FCP 5 no longer allocates disk space…

thanks, we’ll have to try that next time, but for now, we had to send out the tapes for other obligations.
