  Capture issues using Panasonic AG-DVC-80 Camera…

  I have been threading with a few people under this subject for the past few days.

  I feel it is only fair to post the outcome/answer of this issue for anyone who searches this issue, as it was so aggravating!

  I work for a Wedding Videography company, and have been using this camera as a deck! The new camera was brand new to me.

  We shoot all of our weddings with (2) cameras..both are identical.

  After many, many days of troubleshooting this camera to capture, I FINALLY gave up.

  I called my employer and asked to trade the camera with the other..keep in mind, the same exact camera!

  I plugged it in with FireWire, changed NO settings, and it worked perfectly, immediatlely!!!

  My point: Regardless of FCP error messages..DO NOT count out the fact that your capturing device may be the issue.

  If you do not have the luxury of another capture devie, even the same, always consider this option. I was personally blown away by the outcome, but am elated that I am on my way to the final product, at no fault of FCP!!!

  Thanks to EVERYONE who replied to my posts! You all taught me something, whether I use the info now or in the future!
