  • Capture HDV without timecode?

    Hey,

First time working with HDV. It’s for a multicam concert shoot, and a couple of the tapes have massive time code breaks (director thinks it was a problem with one of the cameras). When that happens on DV I’ll switch to non-controllable device and capture without timecode, but when capturing HDV I don’t have that drop-down menu anymore in the capture Settings tab of the capture window. Is there anyway I can capture these tapes without timecode, or is there some workaround? It’s breaking the tapes into dozens of small clips which would be hell to edit

    Thanks

    Alex,

What I do is let it do it’s thing, then go through each clip from that tape and in the browser, change the name of each clip, or toss it. There’s a right click that gives you the option to rename the master clip in your capture scratch.

Otherwise, make a dub of the tape.

Even if you could capture without timecode, that would still not fix your problem that I can see.

    Have a wonderful day.
