Capture from XDCam HD?
Hi!
I’m working with XDCam HD (the camera is a 330) and FCP 6 and usally we are using the transfer software to transfer files from the camera.
Now I have one disc with a proxyfile that seems to be corrupt. It, crashes the transfer program.
Today I tried to capture through Log and Capture in FCP and firewire with the camera in AV/C mode, but I didn’t find any settings in FCP that worked.
Is this possible to do? If not, is there another way to get around the corrupt file?

Don’t quote me on this but I don’t think you can capture 35mb Xdcam HD through firewire. You can only capture 25mb XDCam HD.

I’m sure you’re right Steve. I reckon the only way Per would be realtime capture via SDI.

You’ll have to hook up the camera using Analog Component and connect the RCA audio out to your capture card and use the firewire as machine control. The 330 camera doesn’t have SDI out on the camera. Sorry…

Thanks! This is what I suspected. And the Kona 3 card doesn’t have analog component so that’s not a solution. And there is no deck or drive available close to here.
Does anyone know how to deal with a corrupt proxyfile? It crashes the transfer program, but we have imported it to a PC with the proxy browsing software, so it’s not totally damaged.
I’ve read about the new transfer software somewhere that you can disable proxy import. Could that be a solution?
