I have a completed project that is using footage that was shot in hi-def and down converted to letterboxed SD during capture. I would like to re-do the project in hi-def or at least wide screen SD. I really don’t want to start over so my question is…is there a way to re-capture the clips as defined in the the time line and then simply replace them with the full screen footage?

If you batch captured your files as DV, you should be able to open the capture log with the same tape but as HDV this time. If all the clips start and stop on the same frame as the DV ones, you can replace media and edit as HDV. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Unfortunately it was a “capture tape” all in one piece capture

Unfortunately the answer to your original question is no. There is no way to recapture SD as HD. This is a lesson learned the hard way but always capture as HD. It will leave you with more possibilities later on.
