OK. I’m sure this has been asked before but here it goes.
I’ve been capturing just fine from my Sony HDR-HC1 into Premiere Pro 2 on my Dell for some time using the FireWire. The last project I did, I shot in HDV to have some wiggle room with crop and so on but decided it took way to long and I wound up not needing the option anyhow. So for the new project I’m back to DV and now it’s capture time and my “Device is Offline”. I’m sure I’ve changed a setting on the camera or something and it’s probably simple, but…
Does anybody have a suggestion for me? Maybe the things to wach for or a check list of incompatability red flags or something?
    thanks

Your Project settings must be “DV -NTSC Standard 48khz”. There are far too many settings in the cams menu and the documentation is poor, but DV-Out must be turned on.
