Capture from a Vestax PBS-4
Hello
I’m trying to capture footage from a Vestax PBS-4 using Final Cut Pro.
Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it?
I’m using Final Cut Pro 7 on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.3.
I have tried customising the Capture Presets but get the error message ‘Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card’.
When I try to log and capture, video from the PBS-4 shows up in the Capture window, but when I try to catpure the footage I get the error message ‘Attempt to capture video without a video device selected. Please select a video device in your capture presets and try again.’
Any advice appreciated.

How are you connecting this to the computer? I don’t see any firewire out. It has USB out…but FCP doesn’t capture via USB. You will have to capture with something else, then convert the media to FCP media (ie ProRes).
But I see that it is a live streaming device, compatible with a variety of live stream software. Not sure what to use to capture video with it.
