  capture encountered a problem reading data on tape

  I’m trying to capture footage that I did not shoot on a sony tape with a sony cmos hdv 1080i set to ilink conv. off and set to DV. I got a message saying:

  Capture encountered a problem reading the data on your source tape. This could be due to a problem with the tape. To capture as much of your footage as possible, plese capture a clip that ends before this segment, and another one that starts right after it.

  My FCP capture settings are
  sequence dv ntsc 48khz
  capture dv ntsc 48khz
  device firewire ntsc ndf ( I also tried fire ntsc and had the same problem.)

  I’m using FCP 6
  powermac g5

  How can I capture this footage?
