Capture > Eject tape hot key?

May 31, 2005 at 7:56 pmNope. Can’t be done from the keyboard or anywhere within the FCP system. Has to be done manually from the deck.

It’s one of those little things you wish Apple would put into the software. I guess they figure you have to go load / unload the machine anyway, but especially for folks like me with the equipment in another room, a simple Eject button would be nice.

May 31, 2005 at 9:09 pmNot only would it be nice to have it as a button, but Discreet Edit gives you the option to ‘Eject Tape on Tape Change’ in batch capture. It asks you for the next tape and in the time it takes you to swivel your seat the tape is ejected. Saves like only a microsecond but its’ classy.
