Capture / Edit / Output Resloution Help Please
Hi Everyone,
Im new to Creativecow.net so if my questions are very simply stupid. Please bear with me. I have most of my material that i wan to edit shot on DV Pro format. Its on the small DV tapes. Firstly my machine is a centrino 1.7 ghz, 512 mb ram, 60 gb internal drive, 40 gb external USB 2.0 Drive, 2mb line 2 cache, DVD/CDRW combo drive, 15″ widescreen monitor, firewire IEEE port. Now i want to know if this spec is enough to handle PREMIERE PRO 7.
Secondly please tell me. In simple terms. What format should i get my files off from the DV tape. I intend to edit them and create short duration (5 mins) showreels for clients to watch. I intend to burn them to DVD so that is going to be the final output method. Now i want to give the best cinematic resolution effect to my clients. Now the shooting is done by a professional studio. I want to do the editing alone by myself. So i send my External harddrive to the studio and they simply load the footage onto the external drive and send it to me. Their job is over. So to edit within PREMIERE PRO without hangups at best resolution for DVD clarity…
1. What format should i get the video from DV tape onto hard disk ? (mpeg 2, avi)
2. What bitrate should i ask for this video ? (the studio said higher bitrate means better but my system hangs)
3. What resolution should i ask for ? (720 x 576 Pal is what they suggested)
4. And how should i render this out as a file so that i can show it directly from my laptop in WINDVD. When i need to burn to DVD to send to someone i will use a DVD software and import the files into it and burn them. Can any of you gracious members answer all the points ive put above mentioning the answers per point number. Ill be really gratefull. Because right now im feeling like jumping for joy. FROM A VERY TALL BUILDING.
