    Hey,

Using FCP 5.1 on Macbook Pro. When capturing (FW from Panasonic AJSD255) using the Mac HD as scratch drive (only for a test) system works great.

As soon as I move the capture scratch to an external FW drive, I can still capture, but the video files do not appear in the bin. I have to import them into the bin after I have captured. Did I miss a setting somewhere to redirect the capture bin to an external drive?

Did you just move the bin folder or have you changed the capture bin target in FCP

In the Top menu click on Final Cut Pro then system setings to set your scratch disc

I recomend you create a new folder on whatever drive you want to work off of for each different project and change your scratch disk when ever you work on a different project. that way all your captures video render files, autosave files for one project are all located in one place,

Tried that. I changed ALL the settings to the FW drive in a “Final Cut Pro Documents” Folder and they still don’t show up.

    Any other ideas?
