  capture 6.0 VTR control for DSR1500?

  I have a DV tape shot in SD that I want to do a batch capture of. The capture video icon brings up a prompt for HDv or DV, I have selected DV, but I have no machine control. If I start the deck from its own control panel, it will capture, but I want to set up a batch by selecting TC in/out but it’s all greyed out. I am connected via Firewire, do I need a serial connection as well?
  Will vegas 8.0 do machine control of a Sony DSR1500 deck?

  Dell dual CPU 2.66hz, 2gb ram
  running Vegas pro 8.0
