Capture 6 channels and create 5.1AC3 file

I’m using a KONA3 card and capturing using FCP 6 from a HDCAM SR deck. The 1st six channels are the 5.1 sound. My client wants us to capture and create a 5.1AC3 file.
I’m curious on how too go about this. I’m assuming the capture in FCP is set to MONO Ch1-6. I take the MOV and then use compressor.
Do I just drag the mov w/6ch embedded and use the 5.1 preset?
Or export 6 different aiff files and use “New Job with Surround Sound Group” with in Compressor? Anything else I should watch out for? Any additional steps I’m missing? -

That’s pretty much it. Give it a test, it’s been awhile since I’ve done it.
