  • capture 24p SD through non-24p camcorder?

Posted by Matthew Cohn on July 2, 2009 at 5:06 pm

    Hi All,

I have SD footage that was shot at 24p that I need to capture in FCP. Does anybody know if it is possible to capture this footage from a camcorder that does not have a 24p option, or must the camera itself playing the tape to be captured have the option in order for the footage to be captured properly?

    Thank you,

    Matt

Typically 24p SD is shot with some sort of cadence that makes it 29.97 anyway…

So… no, you don’t need any special camera.

But what camera did you (they) use to shoot with?

    Hi Mike,

The camera they used was a Panasonic DVX 100B. What do you think? I think regardless I should probably just do a test and see how it works out. But anymore thoughts on the topic would be more than welcomed.

    Thanks,
    Matt
