    If I shoot in 16:9 and try to capture with firewire does premiere know what aspect ratio it is capturing? I have passed 16:9 footage through a sony DV deck that is 4:3 only, and had to stretch the footage in a widescreen project. how can I capture 16:9

    Open a new project with the 16:9 settings and capture the footage.
