Captions under images
I’m using InDesign CC and I’m having a difficult time just putting simple captions under images.
I’ve searched for tutorials, but they all go into far more complex things than what I’m trying to do. I’m not interested in using Metadata or anything else. I simply want to place some text underneath pictures. That’s it.
I tried using the Caption setup dialog box, but putting the text in the fields doesn’t make the text actually appear below the image. And neither the Generate Live Caption nor the Generate Static Caption options are lit up.
How can I perform this very basic function?

Just draw a text frame and type in the text you want.
