Posted by Stephen Hill on April 11, 2016 at 4:12 pmAVID 8.5
Every time I open the title tool and/or marquee…the program deactivates my caps lock.
WHY?

April 11, 2016 at 6:03 pmWOW! I thought that would have been a bug, but no, it’s doing it in 8.5, and 8.5.1. I’ll look into it. I wondered why that kept happening to me to. I kept going, “Hey, I thought I had caps lock on…”

April 12, 2016 at 12:01 amI think it’s because many people (like me) edit with caps lock on all the time (for audio editing) and forget to turn it off for titling. It should be a preference not the default, if it’s a “feature”

April 16, 2016 at 5:39 pm[Glenn Sakatch] “What does cap locks give you when audio editing?”
The ability to scrub audio. when you advance frame by frame with the arrow keys you can hear the audio. Or when you drag the mouse back and forth. Otherwise you only hear it when you press play. Like SHIFT-S did in FCP.

General/Enable caps lock protection.
Set to off and you should restore old behavior.
