Is there a function that will allow me to increase the size of an existing layer without causing the contents of that layer to increase in size?

The problem i have is with a multilayered logo with glows applied to every layer. I need to shrink the logo and place it over a coloured background. When i shrink the layers, the glows are visibly cut off at the edges of the shrunken layers.

Obviously this looks nasty, so can anyone suggest a way to do this?

    thanks in advance

Can you make a pre-comp of that layer? Aaron

ah – grow bounds? that sounds promising….i shall go look for it. Thanks Steve

Its not a pre-comp problem aaron. There are several pre-comps already in the project. The problem with shrinking a precomp remains – that onscreen you see a truncated edge all around showing the original framing.

That’s one of those “darn useful” effects.

Ha! I was actually going to post in reply to your ‘unsung’ effects post about the Grow Bounds effect =)
