Can’t send IO Captured Media to Soundtrack Pro from FCP5. It will only allow me to send it as a multitrack item which won’t work for me since I’m trying to take out the noise. I’m capturing the video and audio through SDI.
    Anybody have any thoughts?

I just did a test using DVCPro50 footage captured from DVCam using the IO with no problems. Did you choose “Send to Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project?” The other option is Send to Soundtrack Pro for Multitrack Project which may be what you wound up with.

I’ve been capturing to 8-bit uncompressed, and the send to STPro Audio file is not even available, it’s greyed out. The only one available is the Multitrack option.

    Devin:
I checked out an 8-bit project and you are correct. The send to audio project file is ghosted. If you unlink the audio and video track, the send to audio project file option becomes available. If you don’t need to see the video you should be able to accomplish your noise removal.

The only problem I’ve encountered with that is the IO doesn’t output when there isn’t any video. Go figure.
    Thanks for the help.

How many tracks of audio per clip do you have? I have found that Soundtrack does not support more than 2 audio tracks. Also, it does not work with merged clips or nests. Is this what you have?

One or two tracks seems to be it, however I haven’t tried any more.
