  Can’t Send HD SDI output!

  I am using FCP (6.0.3) with the Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme (6.8.1) card to do an HD output to the Sony HDW-500 deck. My sequence settings are uncompressed 8 bit, 1920x1080i (used Easy setup to create).

  When i try to lay off I cannot get the deck to see the SDI signal. When I go to the menu option for video input – the options are darkened so I cannot change them. The alarm message says no SDI Video input.

  I tried recording anyway and I can get the machine to record audio (over the same SDI connection) and it recorded the first frame of my sequence for the entire length of the edit.

  I am trying to find out if I am doing anything wrong in terms of the output signal. Does anyone have any advice as to why I can’t get the deck to send a HD SDI signal?

  I am supposed to do a lyoff of this project today – so any help you can offer is GREATLY appreciated!
