  • can’t seem to import large wmv file

    Hi-
I have a 35 MB wmv file I am trying to import into Sony Vegas 7.0. File plays fine on my PC on Windows Media Player and the like, but when I try to import it, the Vegas system freezes up and I have to ctrl-alt-delete to get out.

Any idea what’s going on and how I can fix it? Need to get this giant file in there so I can trim it and use it!

    thanks-

It’s a wmv file. Bring it into Windows MovieMaker and do it there.

Do a google search on wmv file not indexed. You’ll get a lot of responses and, as I recall, a few possible solutions.

Thank you Mike- I think I’ve found a solution that will work well enough. Used an encoder to get it into Windows Movie Maker… had to import without audio, but got what I need.
    I so appreciate your help!
