We have just installed a firewire output in a Panasonic 1200A and tried to capture 720P through it. We have machine control, but the capture stops with a NO VIDEO error message.

    Huge 4Tb drive array
    Blackmagic design Decklink HD
    FCP Studio 5.4
    OSX 10.7

How do I check if it’s a Panasonic output or FCP input problem? Don’t have any other decks.

Are you running an Easy Setup of DVCPro HD 720/60?

Did you turn on the deck before launching FCP? If not, quit FCP and try again.

Do you see video when you launch L&C?

Did you go into your menus and ensure that the Firewire output is being recognized by the deck and it’s sending out HD, not SD downcovert?

[Gregg] “Don’t have any other decks.”

    Use a camcorder.

ANY dv camcorder (even home video).

Try connecting the Panny to the other camcorder directly and see if its image shows up.
