Can’t see firewire deck after Intensity installation
I just installed a Blackmagic Intensity PCIe card and now FCP no longer sees my Sony DSR-11 firewire deck. Can I not use both? I only want the Intensity card for monitoring HDV footage. I still need to capture SD DV/DVCAM footage from my deck.
It’s probably unrelated, but DVDSP also claims to not recognize my blank DVDs. I just upgraded my OS to 10.4.10 and my Pro Application Support to 4.0.1 from 4.0. I’m going to post this issue in the DVDSP forum, but I thought I’d throw it in here on the off chance it is related.
My system: Mac Pro, OS 10.4.10 (although it was 10.4.9 when I installed the card), 4 GB memory, FCP 5.1.4, Intensity driver 6.2

I have no idea why, but the issue mysteriously resolved itself.
The only thing I can think of that may have had an effect on it is that I unplugged the HDMI cable from the Intensity card and plugged it back in hours later. During that unplugged time I only used the computer for scanning some pictures. My scanning program (EPSON Scan) quit saying it couldn’t find the scanner. I re-opened the program and it found the scanner and worked fine.
Later, on a whim, I checked to see if I could choose my deck in the audio/video settings pane and there it was.PS. I haven’t investigated the DVDSP issue much further, but I did find out that my problem is limited to dual-layer discs only. I was able to burn a single-layer DVD with no problem.
