Can’t see Canon plugins
Dear all,
I am trying to import Canon 7D footage to Final Cut Pro 6.0. I downloaded the plugin from the canon website, but it did not appear in the log and transfer preferences. I tried the usual reinstalling and restarting computer and applications but with no success.
Then i realised I was using OS X 10.4 which the plugin is not supposed to work with, so tried the same thing on my laptop which has OS X 10.6 but there i couldn’t even get the log and transfer preferences to show any plugins at all. (the other computer had shown plugins for P2, etc.)
So i have 2 queries:
1. How do i get preferences to display plugin/ codec options?
2. How do i get it to recognise the canon plugin?I’m really stuck on this and on a deadline to have picture by the end of the week, please help!

I’d been using the Canon Plug in successfully on a MacPro Quad with OS 10.5 and FCP 7.When I later installed it in on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.5 and FCP 6) it didn’t show up.
After deleting the FCP preferences on the MacBook Pro, using Preference Manager, it showed up and functioned perfectly.
Cinematographer, Steadicam Operator, Final Cut Pro Post Production.

is preference manager a tool in FCP 6? I’m trying to locate it to try this out.

I did find it and deleted all preferences but nothing changed in log and transfer! : (
Any other ideas?

Which version of the Canon plug in did you get CE1110X or the newer CE1120X?
The specs on the download page say CE1120X requires OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Couldn’t find CE1110X in search on the Canon website anymore.Cinematographer, Steadicam Operator, Final Cut Pro Post Production.
