  • Can’t render as jpeg sequence in Adobe Media Encoder

Posted by Marek Connell on January 12, 2013 at 5:19 pm

    Hi,

    I have a problem.

I want to render an after effects scene (no video assets just shapes, illustrator images etc) using the adobe media encoder.

I want to render as jpeg sequence in but I can’t apply this setting for some strange reason. If I choose other formats like vimeo youtube etc I can select them but not any of the image sequence options.

    Why is this?

I can do it in AE but not in the media encoder.

Please advise. Is there a possible workaround?

    Warm regards

    Marek

Choose JPEG as the format, set up the frame rate and resolution and remember to check that export as sequence-tab is checked.

    Hey Tero,

I’m afraid it’s not that simple in my case.

I simply can’t select the image Jpeg sequence option. It is greyed out for any of the image sequence render methods. Other methods eg HD work fine.
Yet in AE it works fine.

    I just don’t understand.

A JPG image sequence is a very uncommon format to use. Is there a good reason why you’re rendering to this format? Most folks use TIFF or DPX sequences for production work. For previews, stick with a H.264 version.

I don’t see where it’s grayed out. Open the file settings in the render queue and choose JPEG under the format drop down menu or drag the preset from the preset list you have open on your images.

    Tero,

This is what I mean. (See attached image)

Apart from this column I cannot select jpeg sequence anywhere else in Adobe Media Encoder.

I have faced with this issue toda: Media Encoder just stopped seeing JPEG sequences. I solved this problem by resetting it to default settings: holding Shift while Media Encoder running, until it opens.

So holding “Shift” key while you on this screen:
