  • Can’t render a Quicktime file

Using Vegas 6, I have already rendered out an avi file but that had trouble importing into Avid(that’s a whole other discussion), so someone suggesting rendering to a Quicktime. Every time I click the custom button though, Vegas locks up. Or if I just choose Quicktime and hit save without changing any settings, I then get an error after halfway through rendering.

I updated from Quicktime 6 to 7, hoping that would solve the problem but the same thing is still happening. Please help!

    Thanks,
    Drew

You could try installing the Avid Meridien codec and rendering out to it.

Don’t know about the current version of Quicktime but previous versions required installing the “Authoring” components.
