Can’t Regisgter Vegas Pro 8.0 After Reinstall

I’ve posted this message over a week ago without getting any direction or help. I’ve a video to complete for major oompany in international horticulture and I’m very dissappointed in trying to call Sony technical support and then trying this website. Calling twice when support first opened for business… and after waiting hours on the phone never had my call even answered. Now I’m having difficulty getting forum support. I beleive Sony to be a world class company… where’s the world class support? Right now I grade it as poor.
Here again is the problem.
I’ve reinstalled Vegas Pro 8.0 and 8.1 on a few occassions with success. However, the most recent attempt on the same computer, Windows Vista, won’t complete final registration steps. It locks at this point. I’ve tried disabling my Charter.net Security Suite (this is new security security software for this attempt to reinstall) The error message is:
Attempting to register Sony Vegas Pro 8.1 Now connecting to the server and processing your request. It may take a few moments for this to complete. Please wait. Requesting cookie.
Any help would be appreciated.
