  • can’t reconnect a multi clip that used a ref. mov.

Ok so I am editing a concert that was shot with canon 7D. This means there are a lot of short clips from each camera. I gave each camera a track and lined everything up and left the gaps between clips. This would have been the most annoying multi clip situation ever so I made a reference mov. so I would have one long clip instead of a bunch of short ones. I then needed to move the project to a different machine. I can reconnect all the other media but the multi clips in which i used a ref. mov. are saying they can’t find the media (even though the clip they are referencing has already been reconnected) and it promptly freaks out and crashes.

    any advice?

    Hi Amanda,
Is not Fc who lost the link to the Ref movie, but the Ref movie who lost the link with his associated media.
Try to open the Ref movie with QT Player to reconnect the media.

well right now i am doing a media manage which has handled it in the past and which is how i usually do a transfer. I was just hoping for something faster as this is time sensitive.
