  • Can’t precisely change keyframed value? (audio automation)

    Hi there,

I’ve been messing around in the audio mixer and my sequence in the timeline, adding/deleting keyframes desperately getting the audio to pan at one area of my key. Let me illustrate here.

As with the illustration above, I’m trying to pan the sound to the right. However, I need to do this precisely by entering values in the audio panel (circled in red). Is there any way I can go about going to each keyframe and entering a value, instead of the good ‘ol way of creating and dragging keyframes all over the place?

P.S.: Pardon my language there, I’m simply stumped after playing around with Premiere Pro CS3 for 4 hours. Also, I come from an Adobe Audition background where I have wonderful control over my wav files with snapping, keyframing, as well as the ability to precisely control portions of the waveform without using the mouse.

Help is definitely appreciated and thanks in advance.

If you are trying to do a final mix then why not do it in Audition?

Do it the old school way…
    1. make a sync video in h.264 or avi with some compression to it… your choice. (make sure the audio is embedded for sync)
    2. export each audio track in solo mode (mixer panel) with each named to what they are doing (FX, ATMOS, DIALOGUE, VO, etc)
    3. import the sync video with it’s audio and the individual audio tracks. And use the video/audio sync file to see that what you’ve got in separate audio tracks sync as they were in PPro.
    4. Do your final mix here with the video track.
    5. Export the final mix and import it into PPro as a WAV file with embedded project information.
    6. Any changes that are needed can be made my selecting your final mix and “Edit Original”. IT will open the project it was made in and any alts that are made and then re-exported over the final mix will update in PPro.
    🙂
