  • Can’t make Motion Tracker 1 pixel wide

I want to track an object (horizontal line) in one axis only and hence I have made a tracker with feature size 1 pixel wide (100 tall) and search area 1 pixel wide (300 tall), but every time I start analyzing, the feature size, search area and centre revert to a default (feature 20×20, search 40×40). This doesn’t happen if I make the feature size wider than 2 pixels, but then the tracker starts to wander sideways, which I don’t want.

Sorry if this is a n00b question.

Your Search Area and Feature Area cannot be 1 pixel in size and certainly they can’t be of the same value – you’re way off here.

Track as per normal – with appropriate tracking options which include Search and Feature settings/size.

What you want should not dictate what you track. Rather, what you track should allow you to obtain what you want – sense make?

When you Apply the tracking data, you have the option to apply either X only, Y only OR X&Y tracking data. In your case, apply the X-only or X tracking data.
