  • Can’t Make Layers Disappear in Timeline – Imported PSD as Comp

Posted by Stewart Goldstein on August 23, 2005 at 4:55 am

I tried importing a PSD with a number of layers as a Composition. I selected “Composition” as opposed to Footage.

Why can’t I make some layers disappear when I click on the eyeball in the timeline? I even tried clicking the eyeball on every single layer, but there was no change in the layers.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Which window is open? The composition window or layer window? You should be seeing the comp window.

Do you have a layer soloed? A solo layer can affect the visibility of others.

I have the timeline window open, among others.

I’m not sure what a “soloed” layer is; would that be something from v 6 or later? I have 5.5.

I imported a PSD and selected to import is as a comp, I opened up the comp in the timeline, where I can see each Photoshop layer as a layer in the comp. When I try to toggle the visibility of any layer, they don’t disappear.
