  • cant make a freeze frame with effect applied?

Hi all I am trying to make a freeze frame, I have BCC motion key applied. When I upload it in the source viewer I cannot make a freeze frame. Is this standard, will Avid not allow you to make a freeze frame with an effect applied? If so that sucks. Thanks

Never had a problem with that as long as the effect was rendered first.

You could always render the effect, then do a video mixdown on that track and take your freeze frame from the mixdown.

You cannot make a freeze frame of a motion effect clip. If you don’t want to Ramp to 0, then what you need to do is park on the frame you want to freeze in your timeline, matchframe (which may show the motion clip) and match frame again. This will give you the original clip in the source window and you can make your freeze. If you have effects applied in the timeline, step-into the effect and edit the freeze frame “under” your effects. Hope that makes sense and answers your question.
