  • Can’t load MXF files into Media Composer / Media Tool

    Hi there, Avid noob here.

So I’ve got a large number of files converted to MXF from DaVinci Resolve (specifically, MXF DNxHD 1080p 36 8bit, 23.98). I’m trying to load them into Avid.

I’ve copied them to R:Avid MediaFilesMXF1. I’ve launched Avid, loaded the Media Tool, pointed it at R:, checked off “Master Clips” and “Media Files”. No joy, much frustration.

    What am I doing wrong?

Just want to make sure that what you list as R:Avid MediaFilesMXF1. is really R:Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 where it is three embedded folders at the root level of the R drive.

If so, then another way to bring in just that folder’s media is from the bin, File Import – then navigate to R:Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 and inside the 1 folder, select the msmMMOB.mdb file. All clips in that folder will now have pointers in the bin.

Argh… that was a typo on that post.

Yes, the directory is R:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1

Were you able to see the files? I also want to make sure that these are DNxHD files ending in .mxf and not DnxHD files ending in .mov correct?
