Can’t key out background in DNxHD files?
I can’t remember if I could do this before. I converted my latest batch of green screen .MOV files before I did anything to them. When I import the .mxf files into Premiere Pro, when I apply Ultra Key OR Primatte Keyer, the green portion turns black, not transparent. Like I said, I don’t remember if this was how it behaved before. Should I be able to key out backgrounds in .mxf format?

Just to clarify, have you put the clip over a BG and then keyed out the green?

Nothing underneath it? If that is the case, black is what you would see.

Yes, of course I have a background underneath. I’m not getting a solid black, the green background is turning black. I can still see the folds and all. It’s literally like taking the green muslin sheet and dying it black.
Since you’ve both asked me that question I’m going to assume that this isn’t normal behavior. I will try again and see what happens and report back. I know that sometimes Premiere Pro will start doing weird things like not allowing the audio portion of a clip to be dragged to the timeline, for example.
