Premiere CS3 is giving me a “file format not supported” message when I try to import .mov and .dv into a project!

These files were transferred onto my XP Pro custom machine using a backup drive. They were originally encoded onto a Mac backup drive using iMovie, then transferred to another drive that I had partitioned for Microsoft file structure; then on to the XP box.

When I check Properties, XP indicates they are DV and Quicktime Movie files; but Premiere refuses to import them…

I’m at a loss… My whole rationale for moving back to Microsoft (i.e., saving shekels by avoiding a Mac Pro/Final Cut machine) is in jeopardy. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Convert to MSDV-AVI type2 and try again.
