cant import particular avi to vegas 10
hello all.
I’m using Sony Vegas 10 and I cant import a particular avi file.
When I try, no video shows up, no audio shows up.
Is there anyway to import or do i have to convert?
If I have to convert can you give me best quailty settings to use in “Xilisoft” or “Ojosoft”.
When I try to convert it allways turns out crapy.

Usually this means that you don’t have the proper codecs installed. Try installing x264vfw codec and see if that helps. There is a free utility called GSpot that will tell you not only what codec the file needs (which you already know) but if the codec is installed.

I have downoaded and installed the codec, still not working.
G-Spot tells me i the codec is installed.
Should i perform a fresh install of all my codecs?
How do i do that?

What codec does GSpot say it is and are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Vegas Pro 10?

There’s your problem right there. You will need to install the 64-bit version of those codecs which probably don’t exist. Try using the 32-bit version of Vegas Pro and see if it makes a difference (I bet it does).
