Can’t Import MPEG2 to 8.0 (Very Frustrating)
Okay well I am trying to make my yearly skateboard video of myself and the time to make it has finally come. I bought a Sony Handycam back at the beginning of the year (2008) and love it. It records in MPEG2 and in June when I made a video I had no problem what so ever with importing them in and made a video I was very pleased with.
Now it’s different…. I go to File -> Import -> Media and then click on one of my skate clips and the page closes and my Project Media appears, however it’s without the added clip. 3 of the clips I am using in the video were recorded of a friends camera and I am able to import and they do go into my Project Media. I then decided I would go about trying to convert MPEG2 to WMV) and it worked! I was grateful but then realised I had lost so much quality to the point where the clip doesnt capture what I’m actually doing well enough.
So now I am in a pickle. I have high quality MPEG2 clips waiting to be put together in Sony Vegas 8.0 but it isn’t working. In reaction I tried to change the file types but lost so much quality it became worthless. Check out the videos I uploaded on Youtube
1 – https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dqcFmIcwfpY
2 – https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=K08G7lGrOBQ
3 – https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ2iITclcsEThe first video was reduced to minimum quality. Great if I want to show friends quickly accross the internet a clip but bad if I want to show it off professionally. The 2nd is nice and good and what I want for my video (make sure you click High Quality on youtube). This is the video type MPEG2 that won’t import into Vegas 8.0 which I despretely want. Finally I tried converting to WMV again at a higher quality in number 3 but it still doesn’t look good.
Can anybody please get me out of this bother? I’ll be extremely grateful.
Jason.
