I’m working on a project where I need to overlay some png files onto the video.

No problem, I just import the pictures and then get them to the right size and position using the pan/crop events.

BUT it is putting black bars on the left and right sides of the screen. These go on TOP of the images when I try to move the images over there… which is exactly where I need them. What gives? How do I get rid of this? 🙁

Instead of using Pan/Crop, use Track Motion to position your images. This should give you the behavior that you’re looking for.
