  • Can’t import illustrator cs file

    Hi
It’s been a while since I used Invigorator. I’m trying to import a Illustrator text file I’ve just created. Here’s the flow

I created a text in Illustrator CS
I “create outlines” on the text
    I open after effects
    Create a new composition
    Create a new layer
    apply invigorator to layer
Select the “open illustrator file” option
Locate the Illustrator file i just created
I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE ‘There were no usable vector paths in this file”
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

When you save the Illustrator file, turn off compression. You can leave pdf compatibility on.

    Hi guys,

Current versions of Invig and ProAnimator support Illustrator CS, so long as compression is turned off in the save diologue box. filled solids work best. Older versions of Invigorator will require you to export the file as legacy Illustrator… which is not the same as eps, by the way.

    Hope this helps.

Yes. Thank you. Unchecking the “compression” box when I go to save the illustrator CS file did the trick
    Thanks a lot

Try checking “Create PDF Compatible File” only.

I have had a go at everything thats been mentioned and still i am having a problem. I am using Illustrator CS2 and Pro Animator 3. I can make a shape in Illustrator CS2 and then i am selecting it with the selection tool, then in effects menu paths Outline object. Saving it with out usiin compression and as an Illustrator 10 or 8 file.

Then i poen the Pro Animator app and attempt to import the file i have just made and i get a message saying “Not enough memory”.

    Where am I going wrong.

    please help

    Thanks for any help
