Can’t import HDV

My bet is the problems you are having is because your deck is not on the supported devices list HERE. Do you have access to a different HDV deck?

I first have to make sure there are no other projects open, then create a new project in HDV. I then have to quit avid and go into he menu on my tape deck and manually select HDV. (If left in “auto” mode the deck is supposed to know what type of format is inserted, but it doesn’t) Once I get my deck set to HDV I then have to start my Avid and go directly to the HDV project I created.

Mixing HDV and DV is very troublesome. Be prepared for numerous crashes.
