January 5, 2009 at 8:29 pmAfter you download the XDCAM Transfer 2.8 as per Michael,
You don’t explain what you’re doing specifically.
Import how?
Clip meaning?
XDCAM Transfer rewraps MP4 to MOV. Split and Spanned clips use the SMI which joins those clips into a single MOV.If you ADD all your folders that contain BPAV to the left window and SELECT ALL and then IMPORT ALL. You don’t need to worry about MP4 vs SMI. The software knows what to do.
Unless you’re doing logging and subclipping there’s no reason to mess with individual clips.
Split and Spanned clips are SMI extension. All the rest are MP4. -

October 18, 2009 at 8:42 pmI’m having the same issue. I just shot footage yesterday and rather than it being displayed in MP4 in XDCam, it’s in .SMI and the import button is grayed out. However I can view the footage, but just cannot import.
Hope someone can offer some good advice on what is going on and how I can import these clips.

October 18, 2009 at 10:41 pmSMI ties to split/spanned clips. You must make ALL the clips (folders) available.
