Can’t go from Vegas to architect
I have Vegas 7.0 and Architect 4.0. I can’t figure out how I can save a file in Vegas to open up in Architect. I can’t see any options to save a Vegas file in Architect format.

Vegas doesn’t save a .dar file, you’ll need to export your timeline as an mpeg for DVD Architect to open/import the file. It requires a render.

Actually, you do want to use the video stream templates. Then you do a second render for you audio using AC3 (or PCM) for the file type.
If you encode a complete MPEG2 (with video and audio in the same file) out of Vegas, the audio is encoded as MPEG. DVD Architect will not produce a DVD with MPEG audio, so it simply going to have to re-encode that audio to a proper format (again, AC3 or PCM). If you give the audio file the same name as the video (other than the extension) and save it to the same directory, DVD Architect will pick up the audio file automatically.
No point putting the audio through a double-encode and risk a drop in quality.
