  • Can’t get out of “FAUX BOLD” setting on fonts!

    Hi folks-
Like the title sez! I am typing in words in Phsp.6.0.1 and ALL the fonts are typing in CAPS?! Can’t find a menu item, style or preference to knock this out! Help! Try to use the Warped Text feature, I get the alert:

“Cannot complete your request because typed layer uses a faux bold style”

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah, faux bold is kind of hidden – this is a common annoyance (happens to everyone once).

    Bring up the Character palette
Click the little arrow in the upper right of the palette to access the flyout menu.
    Uncheck Faux Bold

I am still using photoshop 6.0 because I can’t afford to buy the newer versions. However, that is fine…it really is all I need.
I followed several suggestions to remove the faux bold setting in Character, however, after I reset that, I still cannot use the shape tool for text. It STILL says can’t use due to faux bold setting. Help????

By “shape” tool, do you mean “warp text”?

Considering it should work once you’ve removed faux bold, can you upload a file that you have this problem with?
