  • Can’t get my preview window back

Posted by Ann kristin Skaar on July 8, 2008 at 10:20 pm

    Hi,

i have just recently started using Sony Vegas and so far I like it a lot. I have been using the preview window in the bottom right corner a lot but today I must have clicked/moved/changed/whatnot something because it’s gone! I can still use the view-video preview function but then I have to select the tab to see every change I make instead of seeing it as I am adding things. Any idea how I can get my window back in that corner again? Any help would be very appreciated.

    Sincerly,
    Ann

    Hi there Ann,
Don’t worry…on vegas toolbar click view, in the drop down list,
go to “window layouts” and select “load default layout” and see if
    everything returns to normal.

Select view, video preview. If thats already checked, you may have it hidden by other tabs. In the uper left corner of each tab are some dots where you can drag a window off the tab area. or resize the other tabs until you can see the video preview tab again. If this doesn’t work post a screen shot for us to see. Danny Hays

Hold CTRL + SHIFT while booting Vegas. This will restore defaults. It’ll also kill any customized preferences you may have, but these only take a few moments to restore.

    Hi Douglas.
Do you happen to know the keyboard shortcut for full screen preview on a single monitor system with Vegas 8? I know it’s a 3 key shortcut but cannot remember. thanks Danny Hays

Hi again guys and thanks for taking your time to try and help me. I started on the top and tried all the suggestions and by the time I made it down to Danny Hays’ suggestion to drag those dots over in that tricky corner, it was solved! Again, thanks a bunch – keep up the good work guys
