Can’t find Mask Shape
Posted by Nguyen Vu cong on February 2, 2013 at 10:01 amI’m using AE CS4 and I can’t find Mask Shape anywhere in Masks menu, there’s only Mask Path and they are completely different. Please tell me where can I find it. Thanks.

When I try to stop watch Mask Path the shape of the Mask is the same for every keyframes, and the only thing that changes is the position of the maskThe problem is you have your mask selected when you are trying to move the vertices of Mask.
Make sure you just have your Layer selected and not the Mask. Then you can change the shape of mask.
See the image below and you will get to know why you are suffering with this:
Selecting the Mask
You can see that the Mask is selected and not the layer.
In this case the Vertices look like small square and you can’t select them individually. That is why you ate changing the position on the whole mask and not just the vertex.
Selecting the layer that has a mask
In this case the Layer is selected and not the mask.
Notice that the Vertices now are not square but circular in shape. You can now animate the vertices individually.
Hope this may help.
