Can’t export Mpeg2 from Symphony
Hi, i’m running Avid symphony 5.0.5 on a pc with windows 2000 SP4. everytime i try to export a sequence as an mpeg2 i get an error saying “could not initialize authorscript.” i talked to avid tech support and they had a cheezy fix where you move some files out of the avid folder and then copy them back in. the fix worked for a while and then stopped. when i recently upgraded symphony to 5.0.5, the mpeg2 function worked for a while…and then stopped. does anyone know a way to fix this or a good workaround to make a dvd? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

The cheesy work around is the only solution. I export a QuickTime same as source or if you do not have color correction, export a QT reference & do the mpeg conversion in Sorenson. Wish they would of fixed that before they canned it. I am thankful though that they gave us a version beyond 4.7. The bugs in 5 are a fraction of 4.7.
