Can’t delete ins/outs with ‘delete’ key
My boss and I are working on a film project with footage bouncing back and forth between ours and the director’s office. When I’m working on my footage, I can use the ‘delete’ key with my ins and outs, regardless of if I’m using Premiere or FCP keyboard settings. We’ve just received a project file in which we can’t use the delete key at all. I’ve tried changing settings, restoring preferences, looking for any sort of ‘lock’ that may have been accidentally checked, but nothing seems to work. Might I be overlooking something? Thanks in advance. This is very frustrating!!

Oh, and I’m using Creative Cloud, by the way.

Search for “Clear Selection” in your keyboard preferences and see what’s there.

It is a separate command so that you are not accidentally deleting your footage.
The default keyboard shortcuts for Mac are:
clear in: opt + I
clear out: opt + O
Clear in and out: Opt + XThe default keyboard shortcuts for PC are:
clear in: Ctrl + Shift + I
clear out: Ctrl + Shift + O
Clear in and out: Ctrl + Shift + XHope this helps 🙂

I think he means deleting the footage between the Ins and Outs and not the ins and outs themselves. It has to do with your track selection in all likelihood. Make sure any track you want to delete from has the track Active. For example, in this image track 1 and 3 are active, while 2 is not active.
