Can anyone tell me why I can’t control my DSR 1500 deck via firewire? I have no problems controling my clamshell deck but I have large DVCam tapes that I need to digitize in to my machine. Any suggestions?

Do you have the 1500 or 1500A deck? Which version of FCP are you working in?

With most higher-end Sony decks you must have the REMOTE switched to “DV” control (and/or the INPUT switched to DV) for the FW control to work.

    Yep, this must be it.
In the dsr menu you can choose between 9-pin remote and i-Link, which is Sony-language for FireWire (which is apple language for IE1394
