After trashing Prefs in FCP 7.0.3, upon restart, I get the following dialog box, “The movie file ‘CF+tapchappl-1440X1080-102430-3’ cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot play properly.”

When I select “Search”, I go to the path GRAID-Render Files-Constant Frames. I see the file, but it is grayed out and I can’t select it.

    What should I do?

I’m not totally clear on what’s happening here… Are you getting that error message when you’re trying to play an exported quicktime? If so, you exported a reference movie instead of a self-contained movie.

If you’re getting that error message when opening FCP 7, it may be a corrupt render file in which case you may have to delete the render file and re-render once it’s open.

Yes, it was on opening FCP 7. It was seemingly a corrupt render file because when I deleted the render files, I was back in business. Thanks for your help.
